Last chance for young Indian students to enter James Dyson Award 2018

Competition closes on July 20th 2018

Dyson, the British technology company, has announced the second edition of James Dyson Award, wherein the James Dyson Foundation is once again on the lookout for ingenious inventions from India and across 26 other countries. The James Dyson Award gives  students and recent graduates of engineering and design, a unique opportunity to showcase their problem solving inventions on a global stage. This global award for problem solving innovations was launched in India for the first time last year where three Indian entries made it to the international top 20 shortlist including Asish Mohandas, Creator of  Maattam being recognised as the national winner for India in 2017.



Over the last fourteen years, the James Dyson Award has grown to be a property of international acclaim attracting outstanding ideas from across the globe accrediting ingenuity of many young inventors. This year the annual competition will include entries from a further four nations: Mexico, UAE, Sweden and the Philippines; operating in a total of 27 nations.

This year, the competition has returned with a simple brief stating - design something that solves a problem. The international winner will receive a prize amount of Rs. 26,00,000 as well as Rs 4,00,000 for their university. The two international runners will also be awarded Rs  4,00, 000. The country level national winner will stand to gain Rs.1,70,000 as the reward money as well as participation in International contest along with four other national runners up. The students can submit their entries by midnight GMT (5:30 AM IST) on 20 July, 2018.
